Donald Trump claims Iran demanded ceasefire, but America put big conditions
US President Donald Trump, while posting on Truth Social on Wednesday, claimed that Iran has demanded a ceasefire from America. However, Trump made it clear that America will consider this proposal only when the Strait of Hormuz is completely open, free and secure. Trump further said that until then he would stick to the policy of pushing Iran into the “Stone Age”.
Trump put conditions before Iran
Trump also said in his post that Iran’s new president, who is less hardline and more intelligent than his predecessors, has requested the US for a ceasefire. However, Trump clarified that the US would only consider a ceasefire when the Strait of Hormuz is completely open and free. Along with this, Trump also said that Iran will be completely destroyed or it will be pushed into the Stone Age.
15 conditions of America
America had proposed 15 conditions to Iran for a ceasefire, which Iran rejected. These conditions were as follows:
- 30 days ceasefire.
- Destroying Iran’s nuclear facilities (Natanz, Isfahan, Fordow).
- A condition that Iran never develop nuclear weapons in the future.
- Iran’s permanent commitment to the development of nuclear weapons.
- Handing over the stockpile of enriched uranium to the IAEA (International Atomic Energy Agency).
- Full monitoring by the IAEA of Iran’s nuclear infrastructure.
- Ending Iran’s support of regional proxies.
- Preventing attacks by Iran on regional energy infrastructure.
- Reopening the Strait of Hormuz.
Even these tough proposals of America were rejected by Iran, due to which the possibility of ceasefire has become bleak.
