Trump Tariff on India to be raised: Bad news has come out from America for India. US President Donald Trump can impose 500% tariff on India. The US President can impose these penalties on India for buying Russian oil. According to information received from sources, Trump may impose a heavy burden of tariffs on India by crossing the limit in the next week. Along with India, Trump can also impose 500 percent tariff on China.

In fact, US President Donald Trump has approved a bill through which strict action can be taken against countries purchasing oil from Russia. The bill has been introduced jointly by Lindsey Graham and Democrat Senator Richard Blumenthal. After this, American tariffs on India and China may increase significantly. This step has been taken to put pressure on Russia amid the Ukraine war.

Senator Lindsey Graham announced that President Trump has approved a bipartisan bill to impose sanctions on countries that buy oil from Russia, including India, China and Brazil. The purpose of this bill is to put economic pressure on the countries that are promoting Putin’s war machine amid the Ukraine conflict. This bill can be voted on next week. Under this, strictness can be imposed on such countries who are knowingly buying oil and uranium from Russia. America says that this gives Russia money to continue the war.

Trump’s statement regarding India
In recent days, Trump has indicated that new taxes may be imposed on India. Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, he said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi knew that he was not happy. Trump said, ‘PM Modi is a good man, but it was necessary to keep me happy. We can raise taxes very quickly.

Tax warning on rice also
Last month, Trump had also threatened to impose a new tax on Indian rice. This came to light when American farmers accused India, China and Thailand of selling cheap grains in the White House.

Pressure on India, China and Brazil
According to Senator Graham, this bill will give President Trump the power to put pressure on countries like India, China and Brazil, so that they stop buying cheap Russian oil. Last year, Trump had imposed 25 percent tax on goods coming from India. Along with this, an additional tax of 25 percent was also imposed on purchasing oil from Russia. Due to this, the total tax on some Indian goods reached 50 percent and the relations between the two countries soured.

Trump claims, Prime Minister Modi unhappy

Earlier, Donald Trump had claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is unhappy with the high tariffs imposed by the US government on Indian goods due to India’s purchase of Russian oil. Speaking at a meeting of House Republican Party members, Trump said that although his relations with Prime Minister Modi remain cordial, the tariff issue has created some tension. Trump said that I have a very good relationship with Prime Minister Modi, but he is not happy with me because India is paying high tariffs. Trump has also warned that Washington could increase tariffs further if India does not address US concerns over Russian oil imports.
