On Rakshabandhan, sisters and brothers courier gifts for brothers who are away from home, but sometimes due to postal delay, these loving gifts do not reach on time. If this has happened to you too and the Rakhi sent through speed post or registry has not been delivered on time, then now you can lodge a complaint about it and also get a refund as per the rules.

Indian Postal Department has simplified the tracking and complaint system to improve its services. You can check the status of your parcel online with the help of the 13 digit consignment number present on the receipt received while sending Rakhi.

For this, go to the official website of Indian Post and enter the consignment number in the Track N Trace option. With this you will know at which post office or hub your parcel last reached. If there is no update in tracking or there is a long delay in delivery, you can use the complaint service of the postal department. For this, you will have to go to the India Post website and select Register Complaint option in the Complaints section. Here you will have to fill important information like sender and recipient information, booking date and mobile number.

After registering the complaint, you will get a reference number, with the help of which you can also check the status of your complaint. As per the rules of the Postal Department, there is a provision to refund the postage charges in some cases if the service is not completed within the stipulated time. So this Rakshabandhan, if your Rakhi or gift has not arrived on time, instead of getting upset, start tracking, lodge a complaint and exercise your rights.
