Don’t spend your daughter’s wedding money on gambling and alcohol, her family members killed her.

A unique twist has come in the case of murder of a person in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh. Now the police have said that this man was killed by his own family members, which include his wife, son and three daughters. It has been told that this poor family had collected Rs 82 thousand by selling animals so that they could marry their daughter. The daughter’s father was addicted to alcohol and gambling and the family feared that he would squander the money. At first he was explained but when he did not agree, the family members together killed him. The body of this person was recovered from a drain. Now the police have arrested a total of 6 people.

 

On April 14, police found the body of a 36-year-old man named Har Narayan Prajapati in a drain near Haivatpura Brahmanan village in Panwadi police station area of ​​Mahoba. In an attempt to divert suspicion, the deceased’s family first approached the police and lodged a complaint against a neighbor with whom the man had frequent fights, officials said on Tuesday. However, the police became suspicious as the family was not cooperating in the investigation.

How was the revelation revealed?

Mahoba Superintendent of Police Shashank Singh said, ‘As soon as information was received about a dead body lying in a drain in Haibatpura village, police teams reached the spot and investigated. The deceased was identified as Harnarayan Prajapati. Looking at the injuries on the body of the deceased, it seemed to be a case of murder and a case was registered on the basis of the family’s complaint. SP Shashank Singh said that several teams including police special task force and surveillance unit were deployed to investigate the matter. We investigated Prajapati’s last movements, phone records and other aspects but did not find any concrete leads. Then the needle of suspicion turned towards the family because they were not cooperating in the investigation.

 

He told that as the scope of police investigation increased, many contradictions came to light in the statements of the family members and after continuous interrogation, it came to light that Prajapati’s wife Ram Pyari, daughters Jyoti, Sonali and Pooja, a minor son and Jaibir, a friend of one of the daughters, had conspired and carried out this murder, after which all the accused have been taken into custody. The Superintendent of Police said, ‘During interrogation, the family told that Prajapati was addicted to alcohol and gambling. Recently, he had collected around Rs 82 thousand by selling cattle for his daughter’s marriage but the family feared that he would spend this amount on alcohol and gambling.

Strangled with a rope and then threw the body in the drain

 

According to the police, the accused told during interrogation that they tried to persuade Harnarayan not to waste this amount but when he did not agree, they planned to murder him. SP Shashank Singh said that on the night of the incident, when Harnarayan was sleeping, his wife, daughters, a minor son and a daughter’s friend strangled him to death with a rope and threw the body in a drain.

 

The accused also tried to destroy evidence and mislead the police. The Superintendent of Police said that to mislead the police, the accused broke Prajapati’s mobile phone and threw it away and hid the cash. The rope used in the crime, hidden Rs 82 thousand 500 and a broken mobile phone have been recovered. Police said that legal action is underway and a reward of Rs 10,000 has been announced for the police teams that solve the case.
