‘Double the number of trees cut should be planted’, Railway Minister said on Lalitpur-Singrauli line.

Work on the rail line is going on to connect Lalitpur in Uttar Pradesh and Singrauli in Madhya Pradesh. Recently there were reports that more than 54 thousand trees were cut on the route decided and now the route itself is being changed. Due to this more trees will be cut. Taking cognizance of these reports, Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has directed that it should be studied again so that the trees can be saved. Not only this, he has given instructions that twice as many trees should be planted in the affected area.

 

According to media reports, before laying the railway line on Khajuraho-Panna section, 54,578 trees were cut and Rs 24.78 crore was spent on it. Then the Railways said that there were 6 dangerous turns on this route due to which the operation of the train was not safe. Now this route has been changed and the new route has been proposed from about 1 kilometer away from the earlier place. For this, trees have to be cut again and the forest department has also started counting the trees.

Instructions for planting double trees

 

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has taken cognizance of the news related to the alignment of Panna forest. Drone photos and topo sheets of the alignment have been studied. Also, the team has been instructed to once again study the railway line construction by calling technical experts in the current alignment so that trees can be saved. Not only this, it was also directed that more than double the number of trees in the affected area will be planted before the upcoming monsoon.

Let us tell you that Lalitpur-Singrauli Rail Line Project is an important rail connectivity project connecting Bundelkhand and Vindhya region. This project connects the backward areas of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh with rail network. The Singrauli–Lalitpur railway line passes through the Panna forests. This line connects the eastern region of Madhya Pradesh with the main railway line of Jhansi–Bhopal.
