The treacherous attack of the dragon! US report claims, challenges India’s sovereignty; Arunachal described as Taiwan
China Has once again done what he has become accustomed to. That is, once he did not desist from showing betrayal and expansionism towards India. A new US report claims that Dragon openly challenged India’s sovereignty by presenting Arunachal Pradesh as a ‘disputed territory’ like Taiwan. This move is not only a direct attack on India’s territorial integrity, but it also exposes China’s dangerous strategy under which it wants to create international pressure by keeping Taiwan, South China Sea and now Indian border areas in the same frame.

What is China’s great revival plan?
According to the American report, linking Arunachal with Taiwan is not just rhetoric but a sign of future aggressive geopolitical moves. This also makes it clear that China, while talking about peace on the border with India, is trying to weaken sovereignty through the backdoor.
The US Pentagon report states that China plans to make a ‘great resurgence’ by 2049 by claiming Arunachal Pradesh, Taiwan and other territorial and maritime claims in the South China Sea.
Conflict in China-India relations
This report has come at a time when India and China have considered the years-old border dispute over LAC in eastern Ladakh to be over. Now with the arrival of this report another controversy may start. This treacherous plan of China in the northeastern state can create a major conflict in New Delhi-Beijing relations. This is because under the ‘Great Resurgence’ plan, China aims to operate at a higher global level and build a ‘world-class army’ capable of ‘fighting and winning’.
Always belonged to India, and will always remain so.
India has always maintained on this issue that Arunachal “was, is and will always be ours” an integral part of the country. Last year, India and China reached an agreement aimed at withdrawal of troops along the LAC in eastern Ladakh. However, after months of peace, tension regarding Arunachal Pradesh has increased again recently.
Prema Thongdok was kept in custody for 18 hours
Last month, Prema Thongdok, an Indian national traveling from London to Japan, was detained for 18 hours during a layover in Shanghai. Thongdok said Chinese authorities claimed that his passport was invalid because it listed Arunachal Pradesh as his birthplace. They were also denied food and other airport facilities.
Eventually, he resumed his journey after contacting the Indian Embassy in Shanghai through a friend in Britain. Earlier this week, a YouTuber was detained in China after he described Arunachal Pradesh as an integral part of India in a video he made supporting Thongdok.
McMahon does not consider the line as a limit
Beijing considers Arunachal Pradesh as part of China and calls the region South Tibet or Jangnan. This is because China does not accept the McMahon Line drawn by the British in 1914. The demarcation was agreed upon between Britain and the then independent Tibet.
Tawang is especially important for China in the whole of Arunachal. Actually, earlier China used to claim only Tawang. Later, he extended this claim to the entire north-eastern state. Since then, China has periodically released lists of new names of places in Arunachal to increase pressure on India. A former diplomat said that it is important for America to pay attention to China’s moves in Arunachal Pradesh.
America already knew about this
According to ANI News, “Earlier, the US has been speaking in great detail about the developments related to Ladakh, but has remained silent on Arunachal Pradesh. Now that it has taken note of these steps, it shows that the US is better aware of the pressure and other tactics used by China with India in Arunachal Pradesh.”
China’s Pakistan strategy
There was another warning for India in the American report. It was told that reducing tension on LAC was part of China’s long-term dual strategy. To combine strategic peace on the border with sustained military pressure through our all-weather friend Pakistan.
This was clearly seen during Operation Sindoor, where Pakistan used mostly Chinese weapons during the conflict. It is a different matter that weapons and air defense systems failed. It also said that by maintaining peace on the LAC, China was stabilizing relations with India and trying to prevent Delhi from getting closer to Washington.
