DRDO’s new ‘all-terrain platform’ ready, designed for operation in every terrain
New Delhi. Towards strengthening India’s defense capabilities (DRDO) Has developed an Advanced All-Terrain Armored Platform (AAP). It has been designed keeping in mind the modern needs of the Army, which is capable of operating in different geographical conditions.
Ability to operate in all types of terrain
This platform can also operate in challenging areas like desert, hilly terrain, forests and water. It is designed in both tracked and wheeled configurations, allowing it to maintain stability and maneuverability even on rough terrain.
Weapons and Technical Features
This platform has the capability to mount a 30 mm gun and can also be integrated with anti-tank guided missile systems. Its design is such that it is capable of movement in water for limited distances, due to which it can also be useful in amphibious operations.
Emphasis on indigenous technology
This entire system has been developed under the ‘Make in India’ initiative. in this project VRDE Many defense and industrial partners have been involved.

The video released by DRDO shows the platform successfully operating on difficult terrain—mud, water and rough terrain. According to officials, it has been designed to suit the future operational needs of the Indian Army.

According to experts, such multi-terrain platforms are important for rapid and flexible deployment in border areas. This could increase the Army’s mobility and response capabilities, especially in areas where conventional vehicles prove limited.
Although detailed capabilities and deployment strategies related to defense equipment are not generally made public, such indigenous technology is considered an important step towards strengthening India’s defense self-reliance.
