Drivers wearing seat belts and helmets were honored and were told to follow road safety rules.
Ambedkar Nagar.
Under the road safety awareness campaign, innovative public awareness programs were organized today at Old Tehsil Tiraha of Ambedkar Nagar, Akbarpur and other places in the district. On this occasion, a large number of citizens gathered and displayed awareness videos on road safety. Road safety awareness videos prepared by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) were displayed, which inspired the gathering to adopt safe and responsible road behaviour. Through these videos, road safety rules were explained in a simple, interesting and effective manner.
Representatives of Center of Excellence for Road Safety (CoERS), IIT Madras and Police Department interacted with the citizens and urged them to regularly follow helmets, seat belts and other traffic rules. Two-wheeler drivers traveling wearing helmets were publicly felicitated, inspiring other citizens to adopt safe behaviour.
Apart from this, the traffic police stopped bike and other vehicle drivers at various intersections of the city and showed them videos related to road safety and made them aware in detail about the rules of safe traffic.
Such efforts based on public participation, innovation and dialogue are playing an important role in establishing road safety as a permanent mass movement in Ambedkar Nagar.
