Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday inaugurated the use and realization program of drone technology in the field of fisheries. In this function organized at Gyan Bhawan located at Samrat Ashoka Convention Center in Patna, the Chief Minister said that this technology will benefit the people engaged in fish production and trade. He also said that before 2005, fish production in Bihar was very low. Fish used to be brought here from other states but when we formed the government on November 24, 2005, a policy for the development of the state was made. All sectors including agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries were developed. Many steps were taken for the convenience of the people. Many works were also done for the progress of women.

Development of the country through agricultural road map

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that I congratulate the Central Government and the Union Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh present here for the launch of the observation program and the use of drone technology in the field of fisheries. He said that the first agriculture road map was made for the year 2008 to 2012, the second agriculture road map was made for the year 2012 to 2017, which was inaugurated by the then President Pranab Mukherjee. At the same time, the third agricultural road map was made for the year 2017 to 2023, which was inaugurated by the then President Ramnath Kovind.

The Chief Minister further said that now the fourth agricultural road map has been implemented from the year 2024, which was inaugurated by President Draupadi Murmu. With the implementation of the agricultural road map, the production of vegetables, milk, eggs, meat, fruits and other crops has increased. An amount of Rs 1 lakh 62 thousand crore was approved for the fourth agricultural road map. He said that in the year 2005, the production of fish was 2 lakh 88 thousand metric tons, which has now increased to 8 lakh 73 thousand metric tons. Bihar has become self-sufficient in fish production. Earlier fish from other states were brought to Bihar and now fish from Bihar are sent to other states.

Beneficiary of Matsya Sampada Yojana honored

The program was also addressed by Union Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh. During the program, the Chief Minister presented dummy checks of the grant amount to the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, Anju Devi, Usha Devi, Meera Devi, Rita Rani and Nishant Kumar. Also, under Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana, 0.50 lakh fish seeds were distributed to 15 fish farmers, in which symbolically the Chief Minister provided fish seeds to Sanjeev Kumar, Surendra Prasad and Lalita Devi and seven tonnes of fish feed was distributed among 19 fish farmers. In which the Chief Minister symbolically provided fish food to Dharamraj Sahni and Rekha Devi.

Center’s important contribution in the development of Bihar

The Chief Minister said that many works are being done by the Central Government for the development of Bihar, for this I congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Assistance has been given by the Central Government for the development of fisheries in the state. The state government is also taking many steps for the development of fisheries. Fishermen are benefiting a lot from the steps taken by the state government and the central government for development in the field of fisheries. I express my gratitude to all the people associated with the field of fisheries that through their work they are contributing to their own progress as well as the progress of the state.

We were in NDA, will remain so in future also-CM

The Chief Minister said that we were in NDA from the beginning and will remain in NDA. In between, we had gone with them twice, it was our mistake. Will never go here and there again. Our party has had relations with BJP since the beginning. Together we will continue to develop the state and the country.
