Ranchi: There will be a dry day in the state on March 4, the day of Holi. Under this, liquor retail shops, bars and clubs including wholesale premises of JSBCL, all domestic and foreign liquor manufacturing companies, all types of licensed liquor related establishments will remain closed in the state. Police will take strict action in the entire state including the capital Ranchi. If caught drunk, you will not be able to go home without medical examination. Sale and supply of liquor will be prohibited in any way on the day of Holi. After the order related to this was issued by the Excise and Prohibition Department, in the districts also, the Assistant Commissioner of Excise and Superintendent of Excise have issued orders related to this to the establishments in their respective areas.

Police will patrol in plain clothes

The police have made preparations for extensive security arrangements regarding Holi. This time, people caught under the influence of alcohol will not be allowed to go home without medical examination and legal action. Ranchi Police has made it clear that strict action will be taken against those involved in rioting, speeding, creating ruckus in public places and driving under the influence of alcohol. In view of Holi, leaves of all policemen have been cancelled. Policemen in uniform as well as in plain clothes will be deployed in the city, who will keep a watch on crowded areas and sensitive places. Specially those areas have been identified where incidents of riots or clashes have been reported in the past.

Will be monitored from city control room

The entire city will be monitored from the city control room. Major intersections, market areas and main roads will be monitored through CCTV cameras. Additional police force has been deployed in the control room, so that immediate action can be taken in case of any emergency. SSP Rakesh Ranjan has instructed all the DSPs and police station in-charges to visit their respective areas continuously.
