Dubai becomes Iran’s permanent target, 1,475 drone and 270 missile attacks on UAE so far
Dubai: The Defense Ministry of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) said early on Wednesday that its air defense systems are continuously responding to missile and drone attacks coming from Iran. People in Dubai were sent a government emergency mobile alert warning them about a possible missile threat and asking them to immediately move into safe buildings. However, officials later withdrew the warning as the situation improved.
It is noteworthy that these incidents have taken place amid increasing regional tension after the joint US-Israeli attacks on Iran since February 28. Iran has retaliated with missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli and US assets across the Middle East.
The UAE’s Defense Ministry said on Tuesday that its air defense system ‘remains alert and is further strengthened by coordination with our allies.’ The ministry said 94 percent of 1,475 drone strikes and 92 percent of 270 missile strikes in the last 11 days have been destroyed in the air.
