Ducati Panigale and Streetfighter V2 Revealed At EICMA

Ducati recently showcased its lightest two-cylinder engine, the 890cc V2. Ducati has now showcased the bikes that engine will be put into, the all new Panigale V2 and the Streetfighter V2. One thing to note is that the new engine makes a little less power than before but these are one of the lightest motorcycles that Ducati has made.

Lets start with the engine. Gone is the 955cc Superquadro engine and in comes the new 890cc V2 which produces 120 bhp and 93.3 Nm of torque. Both the models are currently launched in their top of the line “S” variants but there will be a standard version as well. Ducati has ditched the single sided swingarm, and now it gets dual exit underseat exhausts. Both the Streetfighter and the Panigale have 15-litre tanks.

In terms of equipment, the “S” models come equipped with Ohlins suspension front and back while the standard versions come with Marzocchi forks and a KYB mono-shock at the rear. The S variant also comes with only a single seat. The standard version is also 3 kgs heavier than the “S”. The Panigale V2 S weighs 176 kgs and the the Streetfighter V2 S weighs 175 kgs. This makes them quite a bit lighter than the previous generation motorcycles.

Putting all the power down are Diablo Rosso 4 tyres which measure 120/70/ZR17 up front and 190/55/ZR17 at the rear. There are Brembo M50 calipers hunkering down the vehicle to a complete stop. But there are plenty of other electronics as well like traction control, a quick-shifter, wheelie control, engine brake control, lap timer, cruise control and turn-by-turn navigation which all is controlled through a 5-inch TFT screen
