Due to Holi-Ramzan and Khamenei’s death, UP Police guards every nook and corner, DGP puts all districts on high alert

Lucknow, March 2. After the news of the demise of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, security arrangements have been made very strict in Uttar Pradesh. In view of the demonstrations and condolence meetings in many parts of the state including the capital Lucknow, DGP Rajiv Krishna has issued an alert in the entire state. The State Director General of Police (DGP) has instructed the Captains (SP), IG and ADG of all the districts to personally reach the field. Police patrolling has been increased in sensitive and mixed populated areas. Crowded areas and protest sites are being monitored with drone cameras. Cyber ​​cell is keeping a close eye on the misleading information and rumors spreading on Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApp.

  • Increased sensitivity amid festivals

Presently the time of Holi and Ramzan is going on, in view of which the administration does not want to take any risk. Police officers have been instructed that communal harmony should not be disturbed at any cost. And any kind of violent demonstration will not be allowed. Strict legal action will be taken against anyone who tries to disturb peace or spread rumours. In view of security, the Intelligence Department (LIU) has been fully activated. Police teams will be deployed in plain clothes in the districts so that information about even the smallest activity can be obtained immediately.

Along with this, riot control equipment has been asked to be checked and UP 112 vehicles have been asked to remain on high alert. The DGP has made it clear that if any wrong news is spread on social media, the police officers should immediately refute it so that confusion does not spread among the public. Police have also been instructed to remain in alert mode at the police station and circle level and maintain communication with local religious leaders.
