Due to the demise of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Salman Khan postponed the release of Sikandar.
Mumbai The teaser of Salman Khan's much-awaited next film Sikandar, which was originally scheduled to release on Friday, December 27, to coincide with the superstar's 59th birthday, has now been postponed. The decision to delay the release has been taken in view of the demise of former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on December 26.

The makers of Sikander released an official statement, which read, “In view of the demise of our respected former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Ji, we regret to announce that the release of the teaser of Sikander has been postponed to 28th December at 11:07 pm It has been done.”
On Friday, the central government declared seven days of national mourning in honor of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who died at the age of 92. Directed by AR Murugadoss, the teaser of the action thriller will now be released online on Saturday, a day after Salman's birthday. Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Ghajini fame AR Murugadoss, Sikandar promises to be a cinematic spectacle that is a blend of action, drama and emotion.
The plot of the film has been kept secret to a large extent. The countdown to his next blockbuster has officially started after Salman Khan shared a vivid picture of himself from the shoot on September 24.
