) New Delhi: The Government of India is going to launch an important initiative for 30 crore workers in the unorganized sector. This also includes people working in small shops, homes and on contract. Union Labor and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will launch e-Shram – a one stop solution today on October 21. The program aims to simplify access to different social welfare schemes and benefits for unorganized workers across the country. By consolidating the assistance on a single platform, the Ministry of Labor and Employment intends to simplify the process of granting these benefits.

Upgrade Portal, also known as e-Shram 2.0. It is for organized sector workers, whose number is approximately 30 crore. Its objective is to effectively integrate the information of beneficiaries of all social security and welfare schemes of these workers on a single platform. In this, 12 schemes of different central ministries and departments have been linked to e-Shram. The Labor Ministry has directed the aggregators to register the unorganized workers on the e-Shram portal and create unique IDs for them. These IDs will help in identifying the number of platform workers across India. They will be facilitated in making guidelines for providing social security benefits
