E vehicle News : Promotion of e-vehicles in Maharashtra; Grants of crores approved by the government

Mumbai : The Maharashtra government has taken an important step to speed up the eco-friendly transport system by increasing the use of electric vehicles in the state. Maharashtra Electric The government has approved the distribution of incentive funds to various entities under the Vehicle Policy-2025. This information has been given by Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik.

According to this decision, the manufacturing companies have been given massive subsidies to boost the demand for e-vehicles. It includes Bajaj Auto Ltd., Mahindra Electric Mobility Ltd. and Euler Motors Pvt. Ltd. He has been sanctioned a total of over ₹2.51 crore for three wheelers.

Also, major urban transport activities in the state will also benefit from this scheme. Six initiatives namely BEST (Mumbai), Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMT), Pune Municipal Corporation (PMPL), Kalyan-Dombivali Municipal Corporation, Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMT) and Thane Municipal Corporation (TMT) have been given funds of ₹4.55 crore. This will enable public e-transportation in cities.

Besides, Ather Energy Pvt. Ltd., TVS Motor Co., Chetak Technology and other companies will be disbursed a total of more than ₹4.45 crore in incentives for e-two-wheelers and e-three-wheelers. The government has clarified that this fund has been made available from the budget provision of 2025-26. Also, for the financial year 2026-27, a provision of Rs. 246 crore has been made to promote e-vehicles. Due to this decision, the e-vehicle sector in the state will get a big boost and this is also considered as an important step in terms of reducing pollution. This was asserted by Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik.
