Early Jolt, Fierce Reply: KL Rahul–Rana Lead Counter Punch vs Punjab Kings
A solid stand from KL Rahul and Nitish Rana set up the Delhi Capitals to score 68 runs in the powerplay during the IPL 2026 game against the Punjab Kings.
Despite losing the wicket of Pathum Nissanka, the Delhi Capitals went on to post a decent score in the power play.
After choosing to bat first, Pathum Nissanka and KL Rahul opened the innings for the Delhi Capitals while Arshdeep Singh opened the bowling attack.
Arshdeep Singh bagged the wicket of Pathum Nissanka for 11 runs. Nissanka got dismissed on a short and quick around off, where he attempted for a pull shot, which got top edged which Prabsimran Singh took the catch behind the wickets.

Nitish Rana, who came to bat at No.3, joined KL Rahul as the side posted 68 runs in the powerplay. Punjab Kings bowlers proved to be expensive in the power play.
This is the fourth time for KL Rahul to score 35 or more than off the first 15 balls of his innings. The previous three comes from 2018 (twice) and 2019.
