Earnings of ‘Raja Shivaji’ decline on the first Monday, the real test of the film begins in the weekday test.

Entertainment: The pace of Ritesh Deshmukh’s directed and starrer historical action drama film ‘Raja Shivaji’ seems to be slowing down at the box office. After performing brilliantly in the first weekend, the film faced a big decline in collections on the first Monday (May 4).

According to reports, the film collected around Rs 5.60 crore nett on the fourth day of its release with 5,145 shows. With this, the total India net collection of the film has increased to Rs 39.50 crore. According to SACNL data, the India gross collection of the film has now been recorded at Rs 46.95 crore.

For the first three days, ‘Raja Shivaji’ had earned strong double digits, giving the film a good opening weekend. But this decline on Monday clearly indicates that the film has now entered its real weekday test, where consistency is most important.

According to trade analysts, the film’s earnings on the third day were around Rs 12 crore, compared to which a decline of about 53 percent has been recorded on the fourth day. This decline is considered normal, but it also shows that the film’s grip is weakening on weekdays.

Box office experts say strong opening weekend earnings often come down to big star power and opening hype, but the real test begins on Monday, when audience word of mouth and the strength of the content come to the fore.

‘Raja Shivaji’ is a film based on historical background, in which Riteish Deshmukh has not only played the lead role but has also directed it. There was a good response from the audience regarding the film in the initial days, but now the decline in the weekday collection has increased the concern of the makers.

Film industry experts believe that the performance in the coming days will decide whether ‘Raja Shivaji’ will prove to be a long-running film or will remain limited to just the initial surge.

At present, all eyes are on the collection of the coming days, because stability in weekdays is considered to be the measure of real success of any film.
