In April this year also an earthquake of 4.3 magnitude had occurred here. This area of ​​Gujarat is considered one of the most dangerous and sensitive areas of the country in terms of earthquake. Experts also believe that even today there is always a danger of a major earthquake in Kutch. That dreadful day: 26 January 2001. Even today, the date of 26 January 2001 is considered to be the darkest day in the history of Gujarat. That day, a devastating earthquake of 6.9 magnitude occurred in Bhachau, Kutch, which shook the entire country. According to government figures, more than 13,800 people lost their lives and more than 1.67 lakh people were injured in that disaster. This earthquake was India’s third largest and second most destructive earthquake in the last 200 years. Today’s shock has once again brought back those old and scary memories.
