Earth shook, strong earthquake tremors were felt from Kashmir to Delhi; Afghanistan was the center

Strong earthquake tremors were felt in many parts of North India on Saturday evening. People felt the tremors from Jammu and Kashmir to Delhi-NCR, after which people at many places came out of their homes and buildings as a precautionary measure. However, according to initial information, there is no report of any major loss of life or property in India.

The epicenter of the earthquake was in the Hindukush region of Afghanistan.

According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the intensity of the earthquake was measured at 6.2 on the Richter scale. Its center was located in the Hindukush region of Afghanistan at a depth of about 215 kilometers from the earth. Due to the epicenter being at great depth, the earthquake’s tremors were felt over a wide area.

Impact felt in many countries

The impact of the earthquake was not limited to India only. Its tremors were also felt in Pakistan, China, Kyrgyzstan and other nearby areas. In many areas of Jammu and Kashmir including Srinagar and Poonch, people felt the earth shaking for a few seconds.

Seismic activities have increased in recent days

In the last few days, earthquake incidents have been reported in many parts of the world. Recently, a powerful earthquake in Venezuela caused massive devastation, with reports of a large number of deaths and widespread damage. At the same time, earthquake tremors were also felt in the Philippines on Friday, but it is a matter of relief that no large-scale damage was reported there.

Administration’s appeal

Experts say that instead of panicking during an earthquake, it is most important to go to a safe place and follow official instructions. At present, no major damage has been confirmed due to this earthquake in India, but the administration is continuously monitoring the situation.
