The sudden earthquake tremors in many parts of North India including Delhi-NCR left people in panic. The tremors were so strong that people sitting in homes, offices and high buildings immediately came out. A strong earthquake of 5.9 magnitude occurred in the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border area on Friday, whose tremors were felt till Jammu and Kashmir of India. These tremors, which occurred in the afternoon, put people in panic for a few moments, although due to the epicenter of the earthquake being deep underground, the damage is expected to be limited. The earthquake was felt around evening Indian time, whose epicenter was located at 36.52°N latitude and 71.01°E longitude. According to preliminary data of GFZ, its depth was 175 kilometers, due to which tremors were felt in a wide area but the impact on the surface was relatively less.
