Eastern Railways launches special festive trains schedule News In Hindi: Keeping in mind the increasing number of passengers during Diwali and Chhath Puja, Eastern Railways (ER) launched the “Train on Demand” scheme on October 30, which will run till November 6. According to a report, the move is aimed at running new trains during the festive season and making travel on the roads convenient.

A railway official said, “Eastern Railway is running more trains this year for the festivals of Diwali and Chhath than last year. Last year the number of special trains was 33, this year it has increased to 50.”

50 special trains and 400 additional services

On October 28, Eastern Railway announced the operation of 50 special trains and the addition of 400 new services for Diwali and Chhath Puja, a significant increase compared to last year's 33 special trains, which was confirmed by the former Mitra Because regular trains will be added to meet the high demand, the aim is to ensure that all passengers can celebrate the festival with family.

Routes with emphasis on trains going to Delhi

Due to high number of passengers, ER has given priority to routes in and around Delhi. A special train from Asansol to Patna (November 3-5) is scheduled to reach Patna by 8 pm along with all regular trains. Additional special trains include Malda to Udhna, Howrah to Khatipura and Asansol to Khatipura, focusing on Delhi bound sectors.
