Easy no tahini hummus recipe to try at home

While traditional hummus recipes include tahini, which makes it even more flavourful to try.
However, it is not possible to add tahini at all times while making the dip at home. Here is our version of hummus dip without tahini, a lighter and more accessible option that still delivers a rich, flavorful dip. Here is your step-by-step guide to making this super delicious dip at home without any unhealthy items in it.
Hummus recipe without Tahini
Ingredients
- 1 cup dried chickpeas
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic (minced)
- 1/2 tsp ground cumin
- 1/4 tsp ground paprika
- Salt to taste
- 2-3 tbsp water
- 1-2 tbsp Greek yoghurt or plain yoghurt
Steps to prepare:
- Take dried chickpeas and soak them overnight in water.
- Drain the water, and add the chickpeas in a blender to form the paste.
- Add olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, cumin, and a pinch of salt.
- Blend until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- If the hummus is too thick, add 2-3 tablespoons of water.
- For a slightly creamier and tangier version, you can add 1-2 tablespoons of Greek yoghurt or plain yoghurt.
- Take a taste test and if you wish can adjust as per your preference.
- Transfer the hummus to a bowl and drizzle a little extra olive oil on top. Sprinkle with paprika for colour.
- Hummus can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4-5 days.
