The Indian Meteorological Department has issued a warning that the temperature may increase further in the plains of north-western, central and eastern India. To keep citizens safe from this deadly heat, the Union Ministry of AYUSH has issued an official guideline.

buttermilk
Buttermilk, used in Indian homes for centuries, is the best nectar of summer. It is prepared by mixing cold water, roasted cumin, black salt and a little ginger in curd. Buttermilk keeps the digestive system healthy and the probiotics present in it keep the stomach light. It also protects from indigestion caused by excessive heat. By drinking it with lunch, body temperature can be controlled.
Sattu sherbet
Sattu, made by grinding roasted gram, is especially popular in Bihar, Jharkhand and Uttar Pradesh. Thick sherbet is prepared by mixing Sattu with cold water, salt, lemon or light jaggery.
