The Election Commission of India has extended the deadline to add names to the voter list in Tamil Nadu as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
Voters who missed earlier deadlines now have additional time until January 30 to submit applications for inclusion.
Officials said that around 13.03 lakh people have already applied to include their names so far. The final electoral roll is scheduled to be published on February 17, ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.
The extension aims to give eligible voters one more opportunity to ensure their names are on the list, following earlier revision camps and online submission options.
