Big action by EC before Delhi elections! Nominations of 477 candidates rejected, only 1040 accepted

Delhi Election Nomination Rejected: Voting is to be held on 70 assembly seats of Delhi on 5 February. For which the last date of nomination was 17 January. During this period, a total of 981 candidates had filed 1522 nomination papers. But, the Election Commission has rejected 477 nominations during the scrutiny of all the nomination papers on January 18. These nominations have been rejected due to lack of documents. At the same time, the Commission has accepted only 1040 nomination papers.

Election Commission officials said that the final list of candidates for Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 will be released on January 20. Candidates will have a chance to withdraw their nomination on January 19 and 20. The time for withdrawal of nominations will end at 3 pm on January 20. According to officials, election symbols to independent candidates will also be issued along with the final list of candidates. Voting will be held in Delhi in a single phase on February 5 and the election results will be declared on February 8.

Let us tell you that on January 17, the last date of nomination, a total of 29 candidates have filed their nominations from the hottest seat, New Delhi Assembly. National Convener of Aam Aadmi Party Arvind Kejriwal, Pravesh Sahib Singh Verma from BJP and Sandeep Dixit from Congress are contesting from this seat. Whereas at least 7 candidates have filed nomination from Patel Nagar Assembly.
