ED captures Anil Ambani’s Rs 3,716 crore house ‘Abode’, another palace seized amid money laundering investigation

New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has seized businessman Anil Ambani’s luxurious house ‘Abode’ in Mumbai during the money laundering investigation. According to sources, the price of this luxury residence is around Rs 3,716 crore. This action took place on Wednesday, which shows the ever-increasing strictness of the agency in matters related to Anil Ambani and his Reliance Group.

‘Abode’ is located in the Pali Hill area of ​​Mumbai, one of the most expensive and prestigious areas of the city. This house is the family residence of Anil Ambani and has luxury facilities. ED has attached it under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). This property is one of several properties included in the investigation.

Background of fraud investigation

ED is investigating bank fraud and financial irregularities against Anil Ambani’s Reliance Group companies. On the orders of the Supreme Court, the agency has formed a special team. So far, assets worth more than Rs 12,000 crore have been seized in the investigation.

Three ECIRs (Enforcement Case Information Report) have been filed against the group companies. Let us tell you that these cases are related to loan fraud related to Yes Bank and other banks.

Summons to Anil Ambani

ED has called Anil Ambani for questioning on 26 February. They are going to join the investigation. Even before this, summons have been issued many times. The agency claims that the investigation has found evidence of fund diversion and wrong loans, due to which the properties are being attached.

In this case, many houses, offices, plots and other properties of Anil Ambani have already been seized. Overall, properties worth thousands of crores have been attached. ED says that this action is to stop misappropriation of public funds.

No official statement has come from Anil Ambani yet, but earlier he has said that he is cooperating in the investigation.
