ED conducts major raids in Ranchi and Dhanbad, huge amount of cash recovered

Ranchi/Dhanbad/Jharkhand:- The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday conducted massive raids at various places in Ranchi and Dhanbad. This action was taken on the basis of an FIR registered in Pandara police station of Ranchi, in which the names of many persons have come to light in the case related to land scam. There is news of recovery of huge amount of cash from Dhanbad in the raid. While the ED team raided the premises of Dhanbad DTO Diwakar Prasad Dwivedi, Kanke CO Jai Kumar Ram, advocate Sujit Kumar, Prabhat Bhushan, land businessman Sanjeev Pandey and Ravi Kumar.

This case is related to a deal worth crores of rupees to manage the land scam and ED case. Meanwhile, the CO of Kanke and Namkum and the DTO of Dhanbad are accused of making a deal worth Rs 5.71 crore to get their names removed from the ED charge sheet in the land scam case. In this case, land businessman Sanjeev Pandey had lodged an FIR against advocate Sujit Kumar in Pandara police station. Pandey alleges that Sujit Kumar had assured him that he would not allow his name to appear in the ED charge sheet, but despite this his name appeared in the charge sheet.

Whereas Pandey alleges that Sujit Kumar cheated him of Rs 5 crore and in return gave him 54 checks and a car. Meanwhile, advocate Sujit Kumar has filed a case of kidnapping against Sanjeev Pandey and his associates. Sujit says that Sanjeev and his associates kidnapped him at gunpoint and made him write on a plain paper that he would take Rs 6.40 crore. ED has found important evidence in this raid, and investigation into the case is ongoing. This episode related to land scam has sparked a new debate on corruption and economic crimes in the state.
