ED seizes assets worth Rs 300 crore belonging to Siddaramaiah

Delhi Delhi :The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached assets worth Rs 300 crore in a corruption case allegedly involving Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and others. As many as 142 immovable properties registered in the names of real estate developers and agents are linked to alleged money laundering activities.

The ED action stems from an FIR lodged by the Lokayukta police in Mysore under the Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act. The case centers around allegations that Siddaramaiah leveraged his political influence to acquire 14 prime land plots as compensation for his wife BM Parvathi. The investigation revealed a widespread pattern of illegal site allotment by MUDA not only to Parvati but also to several real estate developers.
