ED seizes assets worth Rs 7.93 crore of Yuvraj Singh, Urvashi Rautela and others in betting case

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday seized movable and immovable properties worth Rs 7.93 crore belonging to Yuvraj Singh, Robin Uthappa, Urvashi Rautela, Sonu Sood, Mimi Chakraborty, Ankush Hazra and Neha Sharma in the illegal online betting platform 1xBet case. According to the ED statement, the total assets attached in the illegal online betting platform case are Rs 19.07 crore. The ED investigation has revealed that the celebrities had knowingly entered into endorsement deals with foreign entities to promote 1xBet through their representatives. These advertisements were placed in lieu of payments made through foreign entities to hide the proceeds of crime (PoC) derived from illegal betting activities,” the ED said in a statement. The investigation also revealed that 1xBet was operating in India without permission and was using fake branding and advertisements to target Indian users through social media, online videos and print media, the ED investigation said in a statement. “Payments for endorsements were made through layered transactions using foreign intermediaries to conceal the illicit source of funds.”
