There was a stir in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal, on Wednesday morning when the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team suddenly started raiding the premises of a big real estate businessman. This action has created a sensation in the real estate sector of the city and has raised many questions.
According to sources, ED simultaneously raided several places associated with real estate developer Sona Pappu. This action has been taken on the basis of allegations of money laundering and financial irregularities. The investigating agency also raided his residence located in Ballygunge area of South Kolkata. The officials arrived early in the morning and started the search operation and examined many important documents.
Allegation of fraud in the name of giving flat
According to media reports, Sona Pappu is accused of collecting huge amount of money from people in the name of giving them a flat, but neither gave the flat in return nor returned the money. Many customers have complained that they invested their savings but did not get any profit. This has made the matter more serious.
The team of the investigating agency was not limited to the residence only, but also reached the offices of the construction company associated with Pappu. There the accounts, transactions and papers related to the project are being examined closely. Officials suspect that the money taken from customers was used for personal gain. This raid has been conducted on this basis.

The name was in controversies earlier also
This is not the first time that Sona Pappu’s name has come into controversy. Even before this, serious allegations have been made against him. In February, an incident of violence came to light in Kankuliya Road area of Kolkata, in which there were reports of firing and bombing. Local people alleged that people associated with Pappu were behind this attack. After this incident, the police took action and arrested many people. Although the matter is being investigated separately, it has definitely raised questions on the businessman’s image.
