Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan angry at Rahul Gandhi on NEET controversy: “He wants to create anarchy by spreading fear among students”

The political conflict between the Central Government and Congress over the NEET-UG exam controversy has intensified. Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Tuesday launched a scathing attack on Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, alleging that he is creating fear in the minds of students and wants to create an atmosphere of anarchy in the country.

In a special conversation, Dharmendra Pradhan said that the opposition has every right to ask questions to the government, but it is completely wrong to make the future of students a medium of politics. He claimed that Rahul Gandhi and Congress tried to see even the NEET re-examination fail.

“Rahul Gandhi intimidated students before exams”

The Education Minister alleged that just before the NEET re-examination, Rahul Gandhi organized a program among the students in Kota, Rajasthan to scare them about the examination system.

Pradhan said that such statements and programs a few days before the examination affect the preparation of students. According to him, this is not responsible politics of the opposition but playing with the future of the students.

He said that Congress is only doing politics of allegations, while the government is continuously working to strengthen the examination system.

“Congress wanted the re-examination to also fail.”

Dharmendra Pradhan claimed that Congress’s attitude towards the NEET re-examination held on June 21 was also not positive. He alleged that the opposition wanted the re-examination to be mired in controversies so that political damage could be caused to the government.

He said that the hard work of lakhs of students should be kept above politics and a sensitive process like examination should not be made a political weapon.

Also answered on student suicides

In recent months, the opposition has been continuously attacking the government over the incidents of suicide of several students amid the NEET controversy. Responding to this, the Education Minister said that the death of every student hurts him personally.

He said that being the Education Minister, whenever there is news of suicide of a student, he feels extremely pained and also feels the responsibility to improve the system.

However, he accused the Congress of trying to take political advantage of a serious issue like student suicides as extremely unfortunate and insensitive.

“Only allegations, no solution”

Dharmendra Pradhan said that Rahul Gandhi and Congress are continuously blaming the government, but till now they have not given any concrete suggestion to improve the education system.

He said that the government welcomes criticism, but along with criticism there should also be a solution. It is not appropriate to spread confusion among students just by making allegations.

Also spoke on Abu Dhabi examination center controversy

Recently, the issue of NEET exam center Abu Dhabi being allotted to a student was also much discussed. On this, the Education Minister said that the father of the student concerned had himself demanded the Abu Dhabi centre.

He told that as soon as the matter came to light, the National Testing Agency (NTA) changed the examination center to Nagpur within a few hours.

Pradhan alleged that despite complete information coming out, Rahul Gandhi tried to give a political color to the issue. According to him, Congress’s allegations did not hold up after NTA’s facts came to light later.

Congress continuously attacks the government

Congress is continuously attacking the Central Government regarding NEET-UG paper leak and alleged irregularities in the examination. Recently, Rahul Gandhi, while meeting students in Kota, had alleged that the country’s examination system has been affected by corruption and the future of lakhs of students is at stake.

Congress has also demanded a Supreme Court-monitored investigation into the entire matter, a review of the functioning of the National Testing Agency (NTA) and the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The government called the opposition’s allegations political

Dharmendra Pradhan rejected all the allegations of Congress and said that wherever any irregularities were found, the government has taken immediate action. He said that strict action is being taken against the culprits and reforms are being made to make the examination system more transparent.

He finally said that there should be no politics with the future of the students. The government’s priority is fair examinations, transparent system and maintaining the confidence of students, while the opposition is only trying to spread confusion for political gains.
