New Delhi, 25 July. In the midst of the month-long student movement at Jantar Mantar led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) over the NEET paper leak issue, the Central Government finally bowed down and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned from the post of Minister on Saturday. He has sent the letter regarding his resignation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It is noteworthy that the main demand of the agitating students was the resignation of Education Minister Pradhan.
Open letter written to the agitating students
Dharmendra Pradhan shared a letter addressed to the agitating students on social media platform I have always believed that a strong, inclusive and visionary education system is the foundation of a strong nation. I deeply respect the aspirations, sentiments and legitimate expectations of the youth of the country. Fulfilling the dreams of the young generation of India has been the moral resolve of all of us in our political and social life. I express my gratitude to the Prime Minister for the opportunity I got to serve the nation under the visionary leadership of the respected Prime Minister.

He further said, ‘But irregularities were found in the NEET-UG examination held on May 3, 2026. Taking immediate cognizance of this, the Government of India handed over the investigation to CBI and canceled the examination and announced the date of re-examination. Along with this, it was decided to conduct this examination in CBT mode from next year. During this period, our main priority was to conduct the examinations of more than 20 lakh students smoothly. For this, work was done under the whole of government approach. In this, along with the Government of India, the state government, especially the district administration, played an important role. Also, with the cooperation of students, guardians and parents, this examination was completed on June 21, 2026.
Dharmendra Pradhan said, ‘From day one, I took responsibility on this and never turned away from this situation. It was my resolve that we will not let the chances of any meritorious student be spoiled due to the examination mafia, we will not let injustice be done to any student.
He said, ‘The results of NEET UG declared on July 16 were satisfactory in which many bright students from poor backgrounds also got success. But even during this time, people holding responsible positions tried to create obstacles by misleading many students, due to which the mind was extremely distressed. I have always been an unwavering believer in the power of our democracy and have deep respect for the aspirations, dreams and expectations of the youth. They are not only the future of India, but also the bearers, creators and architects of the future of a new and developed India.
‘We will not let the country’s youth get trapped in the vicious cycle of confusion, this is my resolve’
Dharmendra Pradhan said, ‘I am saddened to see the events of the last 10 days. It is not a matter of personal prestige for me. The youth power of India is the real strength of this country. I will not let the country’s youth get trapped in the vicious cycle of confusion, this is my resolve.
‘I have sent my resignation letter to the Honorable Prime Minister’
He said, ‘Anti-national forces should not take advantage of the situation that has arisen at Jantar Mantar and in the country, the unity of the country should be maintained, the future of even a single student of India should not get entangled in legal complications, our children should spend their time in studies and focus on building their career, keeping this in mind, I have sent my resignation letter to the Honorable Prime Minister.’

The BJP leader said, ‘I express my gratitude to the respected Prime Minister for his guidance, trust and continuous support. I also express my gratitude to all my respected colleagues in the Council of Ministers, officers and employees of the Ministry and all those people with whom I had the privilege of working. Serving the nation is the top priority of my life. I will always be dedicated to this.
In the end, Pradhan said, ‘With the blessings of Lord Shri Jagannath Ji, in the future too, I will dedicate myself in every possible way to fulfill the aspirations of Mother India, the people of Odisha and the youth of the country.’
