Effective home remedies of grandmothers will easily remove the stubborn color of Holi… The skin will remain shiny and safe!
Lucknow: During the festival of Holi, many people play with strong colors, which penetrate deeply into the skin. These often contain chemical adulteration, which can cause the skin to become dry, irritated or damaged. In such a situation, instead of using soap or excessive rubbing to remove color, it is better to adopt old, natural methods of grandmothers. These remedies are made from household ingredients and help in gently removing the color without harming the skin.

1. Gram flour-curd paste
Take 2-3 spoons of gram flour in a bowl. Mix some curd, a pinch of turmeric and a few drops of lemon juice in it and make a thick paste. Apply this paste thoroughly on face and body. Let it dry for 10-15 minutes, then wash it with lukewarm water while massaging gently in circular motions. Gram flour acts as a natural exfoliant, while curd and turmeric keep the skin soft and calm. With this, stubborn color comes off easily and the skin also becomes shiny.

2. Massage with oil
Since ancient times, oil has been considered the most effective method of removing color. Choose between coconut oil, mustard oil or almond oil. Apply lukewarm water and massage the affected area thoroughly (for 5-10 minutes). The oil dissolves the color particles and removes them from the skin. Then wash with lukewarm water. If the color is very dark, you can make a scrub by mixing some gram flour in oil.

3. Mixture of raw milk and glycerine
Take 1 teaspoon raw milk in a small bowl and add equal amount of glycerine. Beat both well. Soak a cotton ball or pad in this mixture and wipe it gently on the face and neck. This method is especially beneficial for sensitive skin, because milk hydrates the skin and glycerine keeps the moisture locked, which prevents dryness along with color loss.
Before adopting these methods, do a patch test, especially if your skin is very sensitive. Always apply moisturizer after removing color so that the skin remains soft.
