Efforts for peace amid Iran-America tension fail again, Trump rejects Tehran’s new proposal

New Delhi: The ongoing tension between America and Iran is not ending. All efforts to stop the war between the two countries continue to fail. Meanwhile, the growing crisis in the Strait of Hormuz and the US blockade have seriously affected oil and gas supplies around the world, increasing uneasiness in the global energy markets.

To reduce tensions, Iran sent a new peace proposal to America, but US President Donald Trump immediately rejected it. Conditions like ceasefire, relief in sanctions and recognition of its sovereignty over Hormuz were put forward by Iran, which Washington refused to accept.

Iran wants ceasefire on every front

On Sunday, Iran had presented a new proposal to America. In this, there was a demand to implement ceasefire on all fronts. Especially emphasis was laid on stopping the conflict in Lebanon and ensuring safe movement in the Strait of Hormuz.

Iran said that America should compensate for the losses suffered by it during the war and compensation should be given. Also, America should remove all its sanctions so that Iran can get full freedom to sell oil in the international market. It was also said in the proposal that Iran’s sovereignty over Hormuz should be recognized.

What did Trump tell?

Donald Trump made it clear through social media that this proposal of Iran is completely unacceptable to him. The US administration believes that Tehran’s conditions are against America’s strategic interests. At the same time, Iranian President Masoud Pejeshkian said on Sunday that the purpose of talks with America is only to protect the country’s rights and strengthen national interests. He said that this does not mean surrendering to anyone. According to Iranian state media, Pejeshkian said that the Iranian nation will never bow before the enemy.

Pakistan is playing the role of mediator

Pakistan is mediating the ongoing talks between Washington and Tehran. Due to the current situation, the shipping system passing through the Strait of Hormuz has been affected, which has increased the volatility in the global energy markets.

At an event organized on the first anniversary of ‘Operation Vermillion’, the last conflict between India and Pakistan, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said, at present, the Field Marshal has informed me that we have received Iran’s reply. I can’t give any more details than that.

How did the conflict between America and Iran increase?

Earlier, Iranian media had claimed that Tehran had submitted its response to the US proposal to Pakistan, which was later sent to Washington. This conflict started after the joint attacks on Iran by America and Israel on February 28 and Tehran’s retaliatory action. Although the ceasefire is in force since April 8, tension still persists between the two countries.
