Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Aditya Thackeray is in the electoral fray against Deora. The announcement of Deora's name for the upcoming assembly elections comes a day after Aditya Thackeray filed his nomination. It is known that Milind Deora is currently a Rajya Sabha member and has been a three-time MP from South Mumbai. Deora had got the responsibility of handling Worli constituency during the Lok Sabha elections. Despite being Aditya's constituency, UBT got a lead of just 6,500 votes in Worli Assembly. In such a situation, there can be a tough competition between the two in the assembly elections also.

Milind Deora and Aditya Thackeray will also face competition in Worli from MNS's Sandeep Deshpande, who has got the ticket from this constituency. Former Maharashtra minister Aditya Thackeray had filed his nomination from Worli assembly constituency in south central Mumbai on Thursday. Aditya Thackeray, son of former Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, had conducted a road show before filing his nomination papers. He also offered prayers at a temple in Lower Parel. Many Shiv Sena UBT workers and their supporters from Worli constituency participated in it. Among them, leaders like Kishori Pednekar and Sachin Ahir are prominent.

What did Aditya Thackeray say after nomination?

On this occasion, Aditya Thackeray told reporters, 'During the Lok Sabha elections, the people of Maharashtra have realized that BJP is a party with hollow promises. He has voted against Devendra Fadnavis and Eknath Shinde. BJP has looted Maharashtra more than ever before. It is known that since the start of the process for Maharashtra Assembly elections on October 22, 153 candidates have filed nominations across the state. The last date for filing nomination papers is 29 October. Voting for the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly will take place in a single phase on November 20 and counting of votes will take place on November 23.
