A case has been registered against him under the POCSO Act for showing objectionable scenes involving minor girls in the sixth season of his web series 'Gandii Baat'. This case is related to a controversial episode streamed on the Alt Balaji OTT platform in 2021, which is no longer streaming.

A case has been registered against Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor and Balaji Telefilms under Section 295-A of IPC, Section 13 and 15 of IT Act and POCSO Act at MHB Police Station in Mumbai. A case has been registered against Ekta Kapoor and her mother under the POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses) Act made against child sexual abuse.
