In the last few weeks, the Election Commission team visited all these states. Readiness reviews were conducted in Assam, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in February, Kerala on March 6-7 and West Bengal on March 9-10. During these visits, meetings were held with political parties, police, administration and security agencies. The commission focused on preventing violence, revising voter rolls, verifying EVMs and VVPATs and deploying CAPF. According to media reports and sources, the announcement will be made today, as the last date for appeals against electoral roll changes in West Bengal is March 15 (today), while the deadline has already passed in other states.
