New Delhi:- The Delhi manifesto of the election management bodies (EMB) of 13 countries and international organizations took an oath to adopt technology integration and innovation to make the election process more efficient and effective on Friday.
Global election year 2024: The conference on the theme of democratic places was organized by the ECI in which many countries and international organizations participated. During this period, the resolution adopted mainly after the conclusion said that we will strictly oppose all the fake narratives that can be made for weakening the electoral process and to conduct the elections prescribed under our respective laws and Will not let our duties dominate in various ways. The conference was organized by the Election Commission of India, which was based on various experiences of EMB in holding elections in 2024 in India and other countries.
The conference was attended by about 30 delegates from EMBs of 13 countries including Bhutan, Georgia, Namibia, Uzbekistan, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Ireland, Mauritius, Philippines, Russian Sangh, Tunisia and Nepal. The two -day conference also resolved to set up a work group of all interested EMBs around the world to deal with issues of social media, artificial intelligence and cyber security. The work group will hold a meeting on a regular basis, virtually or physically, so that emerging challenges can be reviewed and important issues can be discussed collectively with large technology institutions and other stakeholders as required.
The proposal states that we will always be committed to transparent, reliable and inclusive elections and electoral purity and will ensure the conduct of elections in the most non-Pakistani, fair and true purity and with full purity. The participants also reiterated that they would never bow to any improper pressure or impact, which can derail constitutional and legal duties and the law of the country. The proposal states, “We will strongly protect the integrity and purity of the electoral list, as well as ensure that no eligible citizens are deprived of the franchise.
The participants resolved to focus on the centrality of voters and their rights in the election and make every effort for their convenience in the electoral process. The proposal states, “We will make active intervention for voter education and electoral participation for registration and increase in voting of voters. We will join the determined battle to keep the election process independent, fair and transparent. It was also said that a strong judicial machinery should be established to deal with the complaints after the election.
