According to the information received, some Congress leaders and workers started hoisting party flags around the meeting venue since morning, which increased the tension between the two parties. Many BJP leaders including BJP candidate Krishnendu Pal, Yuva Morcha President Shankar Devnath, SC Morcha State President Mun Swarnkar were present in that public meeting.
During the meeting, stones were pelted several times towards the stage, due to which the atmosphere became tense. After the meeting was over, when Shankar Devnath, Rubel Pal and other leaders were going in the campaign vehicle, it is alleged that some Congress miscreants took part in attacking them with sticks, sticks and weapons. Many people including Shankar Devnath, Rubel Pal were seriously injured in the incident. With the help of local people, he was sent to the nearest health center and then to the district headquarters hospital for advanced treatment. Response and Administrative Steps The injured party has lodged a written complaint at Ratabari police station.

The BJP representative claims that the Congress leaders were surprised by the development work done by the BJP, and this jealousy led to the violence. He demanded strong condemnation and legal action from the police against the persons involved in the incident. Police have started investigating the incident and additional forces have been deployed to maintain law and order in the area. Assam assembly elections are scheduled to be held on April 9, and the rising tension and such developments ahead of it are being considered worrying for the electoral environment.
