Who is Bengal-Assam-Tamil Nadu CM? Oath date and complete list

The results of the election states are now completely clear, after which BJP government is going to be formed in West Bengal, BJP government in Assam and TVK government is going to be formed in Tamil Nadu. With this, the next big question has come up in the country’s politics that who will become the Chief Minister of which state and when will the oath-taking take place?

The picture is quite clear in this elections, where leadership in many states is considered almost certain. While the Bharatiya Janata Party is preparing to bet on big faces, actor-turned-politician Vijay has changed the direction of politics in Tamil Nadu.

The movement for government formation has intensified in the three big states of West Bengal, Assam and Tamil Nadu. At some places, preparations are being made to take oath with cultural symbols, while at other places the final name is being finalized through organizational meetings. Let us understand in detail who can become the Chief Minister in which state and when the swearing in is likely to take place.

Who will become the Chief Minister of West Bengal and when will the swearing in take place?

A new political chapter is going to start with the change of power in West Bengal. Bharatiya Janata Party has moved towards forming the government in the state and preparations are on to hold the swearing-in ceremony on May 9, the day of Tagore Jayanti (Ravindra Jayanti). It is being seen as a combination of political change and cultural heritage. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had already indicated this date. In the Barrackpur rally, he had said that ‘after the results on May 4, I will come to Bengal again to attend the oath-taking ceremony of BJP.’

Now the question is who will become the Chief Minister? Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari is considered to be at the forefront in this race. Apart from them, names like Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Shamik Bhattacharya and Nishith Pramanik are also in discussion. Meanwhile, BJP General Secretary Sunil Bansal will reach Delhi from Kolkata and hold a meeting with Home Minister Amit Shah and Party President JP Nadda, where the legislature party meeting and swearing-in program will be finalised.

Will Himanta Biswa Sarma take command again in Assam?

By registering a resounding victory in Assam, BJP has once again accelerated the process of government formation. The party has returned to power for the third consecutive time by winning more than 102 out of 126 seats. Now the biggest question is whether Himanta Biswa Sarma will become the Chief Minister again? At present the indications are in this direction. The party has appointed JP Nadda as the central observer and Naib Singh Saini as the co-observer, which makes it clear that soon the leader will be elected in the legislature party meeting.

Talking about swearing in, it can happen in the second week of May. Himanta Biswa Sarma himself said, “The official date of the swearing-in ceremony of the new government will be decided within the next two-three days.” If we look at his political journey, Sarma, born in Jorhat in 1969, entered politics from advocacy. After starting with Congress, he joined BJP in 2015 and gradually became one of the most influential faces of North-Eastern politics.

Will Vijay become the new Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu?

This time a big upheaval has been seen in the politics of Tamil Nadu. Actor Vijay’s party TVK has established itself as the largest party by winning 108 out of 234 seats. The hold of nearly 60 years old Dravidian politics seems to be weakening in this election. Now the question is whether Vijay will become the Chief Minister? The answer almost seems to be ‘yes’. After winning the elections, Vijay held a meeting of MLAs at his Chennai residence, in which government formation and cabinet strategy were discussed.

According to sources, Vijay can take oath as Chief Minister on May 7 and about 9 ministers can also take oath along with him. However, TVK is 10 seats away from the majority, so the party is trying for an alliance. Parties like Congress, CPI, CPI(M), IUML and VCK can play the role of ‘kingmaker’. With the support of these parties, TVK can easily cross the majority mark.

DMK has claimed that its alliance is strong and no ally will leave, but Congress has not yet made its stand clear. Meanwhile, Vijay has sought time to meet the Governor so that the process of government formation can be taken forward.
