Elections will be held in Maharashtra in a single phase on November 20, know the result date

Maharashtra Assembly elections have been announced. The Election Commission has announced the dates. Voting will be held in a single phase in the state on November 20.

Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar announced the date in the press conference. Assembly elections are to be held on 288 seats. Whereas, counting of votes will take place on 23rd November.

Nomination date in Maharashtra on 22nd October

The Election Commission has fixed October 22 as the date for filing nominations in Maharashtra. Its last date was kept as 29th October. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is 4th November, the date of voting is 20th November and the date of results is 23rd November.

At present, if we talk about Maharashtra Assembly, out of 288 assembly seats, the ruling party i.e. Mahayuti alliance has 218 seats.

What is the formula of both the parties regarding seat sharing?

According to reports, BJP may contest anywhere between 140-150 seats. Shinde-led Shiv Sena is likely to contest on 80 seats, while NCP may contest on 55 seats.

While the Maha Aghadi party wants to contest elections on at least 110 seats in Maharashtra. Not only this, Congress is also eyeing the post of CM.

At the same time, Uddhav's party Shiv Sena can contest elections on 90-95 seats and NCP Sharad Pawar on 80-85 seats. Shiv Sena (UBT) wants to field its candidates on some minority seats including Central Mumbai.

CM Shinde gave bonus to government employees

Minutes before the election announcement, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde announced Diwali bonus for lower level government employees. It has been announced to give a bonus of Rs 29 thousand to BMC employees. This is three thousand more than last year. Kindergarten teachers and Asha workers will also get bonus.
