Electric Taxi: Foreign company comes to compete with Ola-Uber, electric taxi service started from Delhi-NCR

Electric Taxi: A new player has entered the ride-hailing market of India. Vietnam’s mobility company Green SM has officially launched its electric taxi service in Delhi-NCR. The company’s entry is being considered special because unlike the traditional cab aggregator model, it will work with a completely company-controlled electric fleet.

1,000 electric taxis in the initial phase
Green SM has currently started operations in Delhi-NCR with around 1,000 electric taxis. The company plans to increase this number to 10,000 vehicles in the coming time. India is Green SM’s fifth international market. Before this, the company has started its services in Vietnam, Laos, Indonesia and Philippines.

VinFast’s electric SUV will become a cab
The company will use the 7-seater VinFast Limo Green electric SUV for its taxi service. Green SM claims that passengers will get more space, better comfort and a premium travel experience.

Passengers will get special facilities
Every taxi will have facilities like drinking water, wet tissues, clean cabin, trained drivers and better customer support available to the customers. Apart from this, AI based monitoring system, in-cab cameras and emergency support features have also been provided for safety.

How is the model different from Ola-Uber?
The business model of Green SM is different from Ola and Uber. All the company’s vehicles will be under his control, which will make it easier to maintain driver training, charging management and consistent customer experience.

Launch offer also available
As part of the launch offer, the company has announced to give up to 50 percent discount to customers booking through the app from June 5 to June 11, 2026. Maximum discount will be limited to ₹250. The entry of Green SM may further intensify competition in the Indian EV taxi market.
