Key Points

  • Elle Fanning says she enjoyed Goldfish crackers on set of Margo’s Got Money Troubles.
  • Fanning’s bag also holds gum, sharing that Juicy Fruit and Double Bubble are her go-tos.
  • Goldfish crackers are versatile, low-calorie snacks that can even double as a crunchy salad topper.

The first season of Margo’s Got Money Troubles started streaming Wednesday. Ahead of the release, the show’s star, Elle Fanning, showcased what she typically keeps in her bag in an interview with Vogue.

The Academy Award-nominated actor pulls out trinkets, notes, makeup and (most importantly to us) a couple of snacks for the road. Fanning’s snacks of choice are quite nostalgic, and they’re bound to feed the soul. First up, a cheesy bite that famously smiles back.

“I love Goldfish so much, and I ate a lot of Goldfish on set,” Fanning shares while holding up a 0.75-ounce package of the cheddar crackers from her Coach purse. She even says that she helped introduce Goldfish to a director on the show who’d never had the snack before.

Fanning hints that Goldfish plays a role in Margo’s Got Money Troubles as a snack of choice—and it’s fittingly a snack that she loves in real life, too. The cheesy, crunchy “fish biscuits” are an easy, low-calorie handful for when you need a quick bite. Plus, we recently discovered that you can use Goldfish as a salad topper, and it’s still blowing our minds.

And if you ever need a piece of gum, ask Fanning. She’ll likely have some classic brands on hand.

“If anyone knows me, I love gum,” she says. “I love bubble gum, love Juicy Fruit. Right now, I have some Double Bubble in [my bag]. I mean hey, it doesn’t last long, but while it lasts, it’s glorious.”

Gum can help regulate your appetite and lower your anxiety levels, but if you’re a chronic gum chewer, opt for some sugar-free options for everyday use to help prevent cavities and digestive issues.
