Elon Musk–OpenAI Controversy: The ongoing dispute between the world’s richest man Tesla CEO Elon Musk and ChatGPT maker Open AI has reached the court. During the court hearing, Elon Musk called himself an idiot. It has also made serious allegations against OpenAI and Microsoft and demanded a compensation of 150 billion US dollars.
The Tesla CEO said during the hearing that Sam Altman and Greg Brockman had initially assured him that OpenAI would remain a non-profit company. He further said that he was a fool who gave him free funding to build a startup. He has further told that he gave almost free funding of about 38 million dollars, after which now a company worth about 800 billion dollars has been created.
Musk alleged that he was assured that this organization would remain a non-profit organization. However, later on she turned away from her mission. He also said that it has become a profit making tech company. During the court case, OpenAI’s chief lawyer William Savitt said that Musk has filed this case because the company has not listened to him. The lawyer further said that OpenAI still stands by its core principles.
In fact, the dispute between Tesla CEO and OpenAI co-founder continued for three years. After which he announced to leave the startup. He told that by then ChatGPT had been publicly launched and OpenAI had become a huge commercial success. Now Elon Musk is demanding US$150 billion in damages.
