Emergency landing of Deputy CM Keshav Maurya’s helicopter in Lucknow, plane filled with smoke
Lucknow, 7 March. The helicopter of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, who was going to Kaushambi to attend various programs, made an emergency landing due to a technical glitch soon after taking off from Lucknow. Sources gave this information on Saturday. A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, considered close to Keshav Maurya, told a news agency that Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya was going from Lucknow to Kaushambi on Saturday. He was to attend the Saras Mahotsav program organized in Kaushambi at 11:30 am.
According to the information, smoke suddenly started coming out from his helicopter, after which as a precautionary measure his helicopter was immediately made an emergency landing at Amausi airport. All five people aboard the helicopter, including Keshav Maurya, his colleague Vivek and two pilots, are safe. The BJP leader said that on Saturday morning the Deputy Chief Minister’s helicopter had taken off from Lamartiniere Ground and left for Kaushambi. Shortly after take off, signs of technical problem were noticed in the helicopter and smoke was seen coming out of it.
Seeing the situation, the pilot showed wisdom and landed the helicopter back at Amausi airport and no untoward incident occurred. As soon as information about the incident was received, the airport administration and security agencies immediately became active. Technical investigation of the helicopter is being done to find out what was the reason for the smoke. Party leaders said that Maurya is absolutely fine and safe and he will go to Kaushambi later in another helicopter.
