Hiring is happening rapidly in IT sector, increase of 6 percent in the month of September

New Delhi : A big report has come out regarding the IT sector in India, which has revealed that there is a very rapid hiring happening in this sector. It is being told that on an annual basis, it has been revealed that a strong growth of 6 percent has been seen in the sector related to this sector in the month of September. This information has been given in the report presented by job related online portal Naukri.com.

According to the report, Naukri JobSpeak Index, the main index indicating the status of office jobs i.e. white collar in the country, increased by six percent to reach 2,727 points in September. This index, released on a monthly basis, tells the situation of the employment market in the country.

31 percent increase in AI/ML

It has been said that the main reason behind this increase was the increase in recruitment in the information technology i.e. IT sector. There has been an increase of 18 percent on an annual basis in the month of September. Apart from this, 23 percent increase in recruitment activity in FMCG and 13 percent increase in oil and gas sector also contributed. There has been an increase of 31 percent in artificial intelligence and machine learning i.e. AI/ML.

better performance encouraging

Pawan Goyal, Chief Business Officer, Naukri.com, said, “The 6 percent growth in recruitment activity is encouraging, but the most special thing is the strong comeback in the IT sector after a long time. In fact, the better performance of sectors like IT, BPO i.e. Business Process Outsourcing, Artificial Intelligence-Machine Learning is encouraging.”

During this period, there has been a significant increase in hiring activity in emerging IT sectors like Jaipur and Kolkata. With the emergence of new employment centres, job opportunities are now expanding beyond the metros and economic growth is being promoted. Cities like Udaipur and Bhubaneswar are fast emerging, with onsite job growth of 44 per cent and 41 per cent respectively.

Recruitment in startups increased

Baroda also emerged as a major destination for foreign multinational companies (MNCs), where recruitment increased by 22 percent. Apart from this, there was a 21 percent increase in the recruitment of unicorns i.e. startups with a valuation of more than one billion dollars in Chennai, due to which the city is making its mark as a startup hub.
