Srinagar. A terrorist was killed in an encounter that continued overnight on Tuesday in Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation based on information about suspicious activity in Arhama area of Ganderbal district.
Srinagar-based Chinar Corps shared a post on social media platform ‘X’ and said that the Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police launched a joint search operation in Arhama, Ganderbal based on specific intelligence.
The Army said that alert soldiers noticed suspicious activity of some people during the operation and when they were asked to stop, they opened fire on the soldiers, following which the Army retaliated. One terrorist was killed in army action. Officials said that the anti-terrorism operation is continuing.
