Encounter of a criminal, police chased him and shot him in the leg

Noida, An encounter took place between the police and a bike-riding criminal in Greater Noida's Bisrakh police station area. In this police encounter, the criminal was injured after being shot in the leg. A looted knife, pistol, cartridges and a bullet motorcycle used in the incident have been recovered from the criminal's possession.

The miscreant has been sent to the hospital for treatment. On Thursday night, Bisrakh police station was checking vehicles near Lotus Valley School. Just then a suspicious person was seen coming on a Bullet motorcycle. He was signaled to stop for checking, but he did not stop and turned the bike at high speed and started running towards the service road towards Charmurti roundabout. When the police team chased him, the suspicious person riding the motorcycle stopped the motorcycle near a building under construction on the service road and fired at the police team with the intention to kill them.

In the retaliatory action taken by the police team, he was shot in his leg and injured. The miscreant was identified as Ravi, who is a resident of Hapur. An illegal pistol, cartridges and 1 chain of yellow metal, 01 broken piece of yellow metal chain and the bullet bike used in the incident were recovered from the possession of the injured miscreant. During interrogation, the miscreant told that he used to steal jewellery and valuables from the bags of passengers while sitting in an auto rickshaw. Sometimes he also used to snatch chains from a motorcycle. Today this miscreant had stolen a chain from a woman's handbag from an auto near Charmurti. At present, the police is gathering information about the criminal history of the miscreant.
