End of Iran war!…’Mutual’ decision, Trump told importance of cooperation with Netanyahu

US President Donald Trump has said that the decision to end the ongoing war with Iran will be “mutual”, which will be taken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This statement of Trump The Times of Israel came during a telephone interview.

Trump claimed that the Islamic Republic of Iran was on the verge of destroying Israel before the current military intervention. “Iran was going to destroy Israel and everything around it. We are working together. We destroyed a country that wanted to destroy Israel,” he said.

When asked whether Washington alone has the authority to stop the war or whether Israel’s leadership is an equal partner in it, Trump talked about a joint approach. “I think it’s mutual, a little bit. We are negotiating. I will make a decision at the right time, but everything will be taken into account,” he said, indicating that he would consider Netanyahu’s opinion while retaining the right to make the final decision.

On the question of Israel continuing its own military operations after the US stops attacks, Trump did not consider it necessary. “I don’t think that would be necessary,” Trump said.

The White House has suggested the conflict could last four to six weeks, but Trump declined to commit to any specific timeline. It is clear from his statement that there is a state of deep coordination between the two countries, especially after the joint military operation on February 28, in which Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was killed.

Following the announcement of the appointment of Mojtaba Khamenei, the former leader’s son, as Iran’s new supreme leader, Trump avoided commenting on the appointment, saying, “We’ll see what happens.”

At the same time, Trump also interfered in Israeli domestic politics, reviving his old demand for legal relief for Netanyahu, saying, “Bibi Netanyahu should be immediately pardoned. I think that [इज़राइल के राष्ट्रपति] Herzog is doing it wrong. We want Bibi to focus on the war and not on this stupid apology.”

Responding to Trump’s comments, the Israeli President’s office said Israel is “a sovereign state governed by the rule of law,” and the pardon process is being handled by the Justice Ministry.
